Prehnite is a calcium aluminium silicate mineral, often forming in botryoidal (grape-like) clusters or stalactitic habits. It is typically translucent to opaque, with a desirable soft, muted, pale green to yellowish-green colour. Prehnite is frequently associated with darker inclusions of Epidote or black needles of tourmaline. It possesses a vitreous to pearly lustre and is often cut into cabochons for jewellery or displayed as unique natural specimens.
