Shattuckite is a rare copper silicate hydroxide mineral, typically found as a secondary mineral in copper deposits. Its vibrant colour ranges from light sky blue to deep azure and dark blue, often presenting in masses, granules, or fibrous structures, and is frequently found mixed with other copper minerals like Chrysocolla, Malachite, and Azurite. It possesses a dull to silky lustre. Due to its relative softness and the rarity of large, pure pieces, it is highly valued as a collector's specimen and for unique jewellery pieces, often cut into cabochons.
