Its characteristic green colour ranges from pale mint to deep forest green depending on its iron and magnesium content. Chlorite phantoms in Quartz form when a layer of Chlorite settles on the surface of a growing Quartz crystal, which then continues to grow over the top, preserving the Chlorite layer as a ghost-like internal shape.
